We specialise in the manufacture of crucibles and cups for mineralisation and alkaline fusion in pure Pt, alloyed (PtAu5, PtIr, PtRh, AuPd etc.) or FKS Rigilit strengthened (Umicore patent).

Special FKS Rigilit PtAu 5 alloy for constant bead flatness (alkaline fusion cups).

Our offer covers all models of melting machines. Made-to-measure production.

FKS SPECIAL MATERIALS

Recognised by chemical analysis and industrial research laboratories (cement industry, glass industry, etc.), the FKS Rigilit PtAu 5 alloy guarantees the lasting flatness of alkaline fusion cups and therefore of the beads produced for analysis by x-ray fluorescence spectrometry. The ‘dispersion hardening of metals’ process (Fein Korn Stabilisiert) triples the mechanical properties of Pt or PtAu5 and stabilises the metal structure by blocking crystal growth.

Recommended operating temperature:

PtAu5: 1,300°C with limited exposure; FKS Rigilit PtAu 5: 1,650°C with frequent or permanent exposure.

Same recovery rate for Pt and Au after wet reprocessing of end-of-life products: Pt 98%; Au 99%.
