About Laborama

In 1957 UDIAS organised its first trade show called Laborama. This event featured mainly laboratory equipment and measuring instruments.
Laborama quickly grew and was transformed into the trade show Instrurama in 1966. Instrurama took place every three years in the exhibition halls of Brussels Expo. It was an exhibition where  the Laboratory and Industrial automation sectors were present.

At the specific request of the laboratory sector, it was decided in 1998 to once again organise a trade show that was specifically focused on the laboratory sector.
Laborama started in 1998 as regional 1-day exhibitions, meaning 1 day in Flanders and 1 day in the Walloon region of Belgium.
In the meantime the needs and expectations of the market have changed significantly.
Both trade fairs had totally different concepts.  Eventually Instrurama became less attractive, and was put on hold.
Laborama however, is increasingly successful and answers to the actual needs of the laboratory sector in Belgium!

In 2007 the first national edition of Laborama was organized. The trade fair returned to a location in the Brussels region and became a 2-day event.
The concept however remains unchanged: standard booths, limited surface, easy set up and dismantling, efficiency
This decision proved to be successful as the number of exhibitors as well as the number of visitors increased significantly.

As of September 2014, the name of the trade association will be Laborama and hence the trade faire will be called Laborama Expo.
